Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the best ways to improve your gear without relying upon massive drops or trade. This article will show you how to upp your gear effectively.
Upgrades to equipment provide an additional bonus to the item's stats. This bonus scales with the upgrade component's level and rarity.

Components
Upgrade components make your armour and weapons stronger. They can be obtained by the destruction of enemies, finding them in spheres of items or buying them from karma merchants. They can also be salvaged from equipment with them, or through an advanced salvage kit such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Contrary to other products upgrades aren't destroyed when they are removed from an item.
The primary function of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded but they also serve other purposes. They can be used to increase the level of an upgradeable item, or they can be used to enhance the experience gained by upgrading an existing weapon or piece of gear. They can also be made to provide extra bonuses. A glyph that has been crafted can increase the chances of upgrading its target, while a boost upgrade increases the defense or attack capabilities of weapons.
By selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will allow you to bind it to an item. This will show the list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. You can also use the workbench when selecting an upgrade template. In either instance the item will be upgraded once enough upgrade components have been collected.
Each component has a different experience multiplier, which affects the amount of experience an item will gain when it upgrades with that component. For instance, organic components have a more experience multipliers than mechanical ones. It is therefore best to upgrade with organic components until you have reached the experience multiplier for the next rank of the equipment or weapon, and then change to mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the multiplier for experience every item also has an maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of upgrades is determined by the rank that can be upgraded and the type of upgrade available to the upgradeable item. The most powerful upgrade is a weapon of 10th level. The most commonly used upgrade is a gun of tier 6 and a armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a set of items that share the same bonus. Each item can be upgraded at least once. The upgrade will increase the amount of bonuses you can expect to receive. The first time you upgrade the set piece or weapon, it will receive a +1 increase to its primary stat. In subsequent upgrades the primary stats will be boosted a bit further (for example, +1 to 12+/13+/14+) Every time you upgrade the item it will have one of its additional stats is boosted randomly.
Upgrades can also boost the base damage of a weapon. This could be crucial for certain types of weapons. Weapons cannot be upgraded for an increased maximum defence roll than their base. It's possible to increase the value of certain sets and unique items by upgrading them, however they might not always be superior to a higher-level Runeword.
If you are upgrading an item with an added bonus it can be rerolled a single time and the guarantee will reset to zero. Rerolling is the same amount of power dice as leveling an item, but the new item will offer various bonuses. The NPC [ArmorBoboko Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will require a power dice of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 7 drops from bosses) and the right amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be purchased by using Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. The NPCs will also offer special rewards for each level of the upgrade process. The reward can be rerolled a single time using the same materials and components as the first item.
Rerolling
A player can roll any item they have acquired in the game if they have enough tokens to do so. When an item is rerolled it will be replaced with a level 1 version in another set. Reroll tokens are available from the store for a small amount of in-game currency, however they aren't refundable. The new upgraded item will still come with the extra benefits of the previous one however its stats will differ as well.
In addition to rerolling items players can also alter the identification of any item by interacting with an upgrader NPC. The equipment's identification will change from a weapons to armor or vice versa. The basic requirements and stats will remain the same. The change is permanent and will affect all characters that are wearing the gear.
The player can also upgrade their level of the item for any equipped equipment. This can be done by talking to an upgrader NPC and obtaining upgrade components. The cost of upgrading will depend on the upgrade track, the item type and number of crests. Each step will give 5percent more damage to weapons.
Upgrades can increase the effectiveness of an item, but they also can decrease its quality. It is therefore important to strike a balance between the two. Some items are not worth upgrading, whereas others require upgrades to make them more effective. For instance, a player might want to upgrade a piece breakpoint armor that has an interesting modifier (% chance to block or FHR) to explore the possibilities of what it can become.
The primary reason why people reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game, is that they're trying to get a specific weapon or character that they wouldn't otherwise be able to acquire. The process of obtaining these items can be costly and time-consuming and the RNG gods do not always want to cooperate. The only options left is to shell out real money or grind lots. Rerolling is a popular feature in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can choose whether to upgrade the weapon or armor when you upgrade an item. This feature is not available in the current version of the game. I believe it was intended to to give some value to rare items, but because equipment generally drops quickly and can only be upgraded after a certain amount of levels it is likely that you will replace the item before it becomes old enough. It is also not worth upgrading items with gem sockets because the power of the gemstone will outweigh any increase in the level of.
When you click the upgrade option on an item, you will be presented with a small window displaying the item's upgrade template and the cost of Valorstone and crest to boost the level of the item. The costs will vary between the armor and weapons, with the former usually costing more than the latter. The upgrade template outlines the statistics that will be added to the upgraded item. It will also list its current base ilvl.
The cost of the Valorstone and the crest is calculated based on the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. The ilvl will also be reduced by the upgrade templates reduction percentage of lvl. For example an upgrade of 8% will decrease the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 8%.
item upgrader will get upgrades to other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damage, and block, parry and dodge rating in addition to the base level. These increases are also based off the upgrade template.
The amount of defense and damage the item will receive when it is leveled can be shown below the upgrade cost and decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. Apart from the practice equipment, all armor and weapons gain the same stats when they are upgraded. The market will determine the value of these stats. A weapon or armor with perfect rolls can fetch a much higher price than an unupp'd version. This is also true for other armor pieces like circlets and tiaras.
