World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items give players the ability to upgrade equipment that they already have. This can be accomplished by any item upgrader NPC.
Generally upgrades increase an items main stats and provide additional benefits based on the type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs or Goldwrap for build casters.
Armour
Link's armor is a key factor in keeping him safe from danger. While it can't be upgraded like weapons, it can be improved in different ways to increase its defence capabilities.

The fundamental idea behind armour is to protect animals or people from physical harm or injury in the form of direct physical attack or from an array of environmental and activity hazards. In the past, armour was primarily made from fabric or leather, but later metal protections were also utilized particularly in military applications like heavy cavalry or combat drones.
As with upgrade item there are a variety of ways that armour can be upgraded, but the majority of them require visiting one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain comes with its own level of upgrades with higher levels of upgrades granting higher levels of protection and needing a higher amount of rupees and the materials needed to unlock.
First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been installed, they can't be removed until you own a different piece of equipment with the same upgrade. It is recommended to only apply the highest-level upgrades to your equipment and ensure that you have the materials needed to complete them.
When it comes to acquiring the upgrade components needed to upgrade your character, they are available in a variety of places around Hyrule, including shrines, shops and even enemies. They are usually marked with the gold circle or blue triangle, and will be available in large quantities as you advance through the game. While they might appear randomly, there is an opportunity that obtaining certain upgrade components will lead to quests that reward players with more.
It is also important to note that even though the amount of protection offered by each upgrade differs however, it's the same for all upgrades and will always be better than nothing. This is because a full set of upgraded armour will grant you a high defense boost that protects you from all forms of attacks except magic and makes it a formidable tool for any type of.
Weapons
If you want to make your guns distinctive, you can upgrade them with a variety upgrades. They can increase the damage, change the weapon's stats so that they are suited to your build and even unlock new attachments like unique enchantments, ammo types, and aesthetic options.
To upgrade a weapon, you'll need to have an upgrade component available and the item. The weapon must be above a certain level for the upgrade to be effective and the majority of weapons can only take one upgrade at a time.
You can find weapons upgrade components scattered across the world and from enemies and can be bought from a merchant. The upgrade components themselves are a mix of ingredients that can be put into weapons, armor, trinkets, and gathering tools to give an attribute bonus or other impact while they're being used. They require that the equipment be of a certain level to accept the upgrade and can be upgraded in the same manner as other items.
The upgrades themselves are a mixture of Smithing Stones and Runes, and are used for enhancing the stats of the base weapon and improving its scaling with other stats. These upgrades can be obtained from enemies in the open world or from merchants. They are also dropped through combat.
There are two NPCs that can upgrade your weapons: Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs will accept your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a higher-level version of the weapon as well as an enhancement.
It's important to prioritise upgrading your top-of-the-line items first, and then the ones you won't replace in the near future. Upgrade your weapon first, then upgrade your chest, shoulders hands, feet, and hands if you plan to play in a melee-based build. The same principle goes for Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that certain items may be better than others based on the style of play you prefer. Armour is no different, with some reforges better than others.
Magic Items
A character can upgrade only one magic item at a time. If an upgrade plan is cancelled and the next upgrade for the item will not start. Upgraded magic items cost twice the amount of gold to create or purchase, but they can have other benefits.
A magical item can be any item with special properties or effects. Most of these items are weapons, however some include armor, shields as well as cloaks, potions scrolls, rings and other items. Some of these items may be converted into a sentient.
Most magic items can enhance their capabilities. This could make them more beneficial to a player or help them to overcome a difficult situation. An infused weapon might provide bonus damage against a particular enemy type, for example. This is especially beneficial for those who have reached a level where they're likely to face one type of monster repeatedly in dungeons.
A ring with an infusion could grant the ability to resist piercing, bludgeoning or slashing injuries from non-magical attacks (not including silver-plated ones) until the next time the character takes a long rest. This is especially beneficial for combatants who are melee or any other character who would like to save the expense and hassle of buying shields.
Certain objects with enchanted properties have special powers which allow the character to cast spells that aren't on their class list. This can be useful for characters that have difficulties filling their spell slots due to multiclassing. These items that are enchanted typically require an Intelligence (Arcana) check to use them, and the spell's effectiveness is determined by rolling an array of tables that is based on the number Intelligence points used.
Other items that can be enchanted may let the user change their appearance, or create an entirely new appearance. These are particularly beneficial for those who have had to leave their homes, or are in a location that they aren't welcome. A magical item may grant them invisibility or make them invisible to everyone except the chosen person.
Utility Items
Utility items are anything that doesn't fall under the categories of Armor or Clothing and have a variety of capabilities. Contrary to Weapons and Armor, no one utility item will be in conflict with the other. Most utility items have an effect that a player can activate by using them, but some have additional abilities that are triggered when the user presses an action button or activates a skill.
Generally, the most common type of utility item is the Flashlight that is used to illuminate the surrounding area. Other utilities include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow the player to be floating in the air while they move, and the Jetpack that allows players to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. In the Engineering section, you can quickly create a variety of useful items, while others are unlocked by Research projects or experimental projects on the Proving Ground.
In addition to the items that are available in the standard inventory, players can also obtain the most powerful utility items by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Certain of these items can be upgraded for more effective use.
Most utility items give the player an advantage in navigation or enhance a specific combat ability. For instance, sharpening stones made by the Weaponsmith increase Ferocity and Power, while Maintenance Oils crafted by the Huntsman boost the concentration and healing power. Other utility items such as Writs or Theses made by the Scribe can be utilized to give the player either an increase in Damage or Condition Damage.
XCOM soldiers can equip a single accessory item to start the campaign. An additional slot is available once you have completed certain engineering, research, or experiments on the Proving Ground. In the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are created by equipping the Grenade Launcher, which allows the player to equip an Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot, while an offensive grenade can be placed in the main slot for grenades.
